The application also caters to the creation of NFT art, expanding its utility and appeal to digital artists. Notable features include a diverse range of 8-bit resolutions from 8x8 to 64x64, unlimited colors, an 'Eye dropper' color picker for precise color selection, and the ability to pick colors from any photo. Users can augment their creative process by adding reference images as guides, adjusting transparency levels, toggling drawing grids, and seamlessly sharing or exporting their artwork.

OctaPaint further offers rounded and square pixels, enables the duplication of images for quick variations, supports up to six custom colors in the palette simultaneously, allows for saving preferred color palettes, and extends compatibility with Apple Pencil.
